CLIENT TESTIMONIALS

Here is what client Emma McFarlane said at the beginning of our coaching journey together…

“I have been doing online singing coaching with Rachael for 8 months and my voice has completely transformed since working with her. She is a very positive and encouraging person and she really listens to my goals and what I want to achieve, and tailors each lesson specifically for me.
Because she has so much knowledge and experience in the industry, she really understands what is required and her coaching is very detailed and thorough. I always have a lot of fun working with Rachael!”
Emma McFarlane – Phantom of the Opera

And more recently after years of working together…

“Rachael is a very kind and understanding coach who has helped me immensely across so many different areas of my performance journey. She is very detailed in her approach, but at the same time very holistic. Coaching with her has helped me to become so much more confident, and she always helps me to find a performance that is authentic and true to myself. Her advice and feedback is always honest and from a place of wanting me to become the best version of myself, as both a performer and person.”
Emma McFarlane – Phantom of the Opera

Here’s word from a client I mentor online…

“Mentoring sessions with Rachael have been such a healing experience.
She strikes the perfect balance of being equal parts attentive in her listening whilst providing real solutions and action plans – it’s career consultancy / strategy meets spiritual guidance and counselling. As an upcoming artist, she brought so much wisdom from her years of experience across the creative arts industry! Any problem I was having, she understood first hand as she has been through the same hurdle in her own personal journey.
And although our sessions have been discussion sessions, she ran energy on me in the background, was able to intuit many things I needed to hear and put words to feelings I was struggling to express.
I respect that she is not afraid of the truth and to reflect to you something you might not want to hear for your own betterment!
All round Rachael is nurturing, deep, kind, observant, intelligent and the perfect mentor to kickstart you on your journey!
I always walk out of my sessions feeling motivated, completely understood and inspired about my future with a clear understanding and plan on how I can take action to achieve my goals.”

Here’s word from clients who have worked with me in person for dance Masterclasses:

“It is almost 12 years since I first met & worked with Rachael. I was instantly attracted to her beautiful energy, and deeply inspired by her pure talent and passion for performing.
Now, over a decade later, I had the honour to witness and attend her incredible Industry Jazz class at Pineapple dance studios in London. Not only is Rachael a truly gifted triple threat performer,
she is also an extremely gifted and inspiring coach.
Her class offered a full body warm-up, professional level dance conditioning and technique exercises followed by Musical Theatre repertoire, all delivered with excellence, clarity and passion.
Rachael works intuitively, she is deeply engaging and encouraging. The supportive and safe environment Rachael created in this class was palpable throughout, and also in the post-class changing room chatter! The students adored her, enjoyment levels were high,
and therefore individual growth opportunities were maximised.
I am so proud of Rachael, and as a performer and dance teacher myself,
I highly recommend taking her class.
Don’t miss out!”
Nicola Jackson

“Rachael is one of the kindest most knowledgeable teachers I’ve had!
She has the ability to make the environment in her classes safe and comfortable for everyone no matter their ability, so they can experiment without worry and perform their best.
She has so much knowledge and experience that she is always willing to share with her students,
and above that she genuinely cares and strives to bring out the best in her students,
something that is special and very rare in the industry these days.
She really is willing to go above and beyond!”
Lucy Walker

“Rachael is a wonderful teacher who creates a safe environment to work and explore through movement. In an industry and a city that is so fast paced, we often mistake slowing down for not working hard enough. Rachael’s classes are insightful and allow time to discover new things about your body that will assist a dancers technique and longevity. She finds time to correct and support everyone in the class, and has only the best intentions which make attendees feel valued as both artists and humans.”
Maddie McGawley

“Rachael created such a warm and welcoming environment where we felt comfortable and confident to explore our creativity. Her constructive feedback and encouragement was motivating and her teaching style is both engaging and enthusiastic. It was so great to work on technique as well as conditioning and find new ways to help strengthen the body that will assist in future development. It was 100% what my body needed and I can’t wait for the next class.”
Gabby Antrobus – Beauty and the Beast

“Rachael brings such a bright, infectious energy to the room. Her class includes elements of conditioning, technique and performance, always offering individual feedback and coaching in a group setting which I think sets her apart from every other class I’ve taken as a professional. She brilliantly combines her knowledge of the industry and artistry with a holistic coaching style. This creates a unique and insightful class experience, always digging deeper in order to go further. I can guarantee you won’t regret taking class with Rachael and you will leave the studio having discovered something new.“
Sarah Brown Cooper

“Before coming to the class I was nervous as I didn’t know what to expect,
but as soon as the class started I felt at ease.
By starting the class with conditioning meant that my body felt really warm and I felt more confident in my abilities. Having a technique part of the class too allowed me to put my conditioning into practice and I felt that each exercise I did I was pushed and found myself gaining more confidence.
When it came to the end of the class learning the routine, I felt that I was pushed on my picking up skills as well as having the opportunity of connecting with the other dancers of the class by movement crossing over and building a new formation. Overall, I was so happy that I pushed myself to come to the class. Rachael has such a beautiful way of teaching and would advise anyone to take her class!
Thank you so much Rachael”
Zoe Johnson

“The moment I walked into Rachael’s class I was so glad I went.
It was everything I needed mentally and physically.
Rachael is so inspiring in many ways,
and creates a really relaxed and fun environment in the studio.

and gave me a much more positive perspective to my career.”

Here’s what some of my other clients have had to say about our work together:

“Rachael is a teacher, a mentor, a friend and an inspiration. Her work and care is so genuine and passionate and in her lessons, I not only learn so much about my craft, but also about myself and how to condition the mind to prepare for the industry. As someone who lacks confidence, I feel comfortable and confident in the knowledge that she wants only what is best for me and that I can let go and grow in a nurturing and safe space. She works so hard to bring out the best in you and your performance. I feel very lucky to be mentored by a remarkable person such as Rachael. She has a gift and anyone who gets the chance to work with her is very privileged.”
Hannah Clark

“I had been having problems with pitch and vocal fatigue and had tried many vocal teachers to correct these problems (without much success) before having a lesson with Rachael.
I have been taking vocal lessons from Rachael for a few months and have noticed significant improvements in stamina and tone, as well as being able to sing more complex songs and intervals that I couldn’t do before.
Rachael is a gifted and engaging teacher and I recommend her lessons 100% they are both challenging and fun.”
Henri Herbert – Musician

“Genuine, Passionate, Encouraging, Inquisitive and Supremely Talented!
You only have to observe Rachael teach for one minute to know you are in for a truly wonderful experience. Rachael brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her, which she enthusiastically shares with each and every participant. It is a joy seeing her interact with my students, she approaches each class with a genuine desire to make everyone feel special, challenged, inspired and acknowledged. Rachael’s masterclasses are extremely popular with my students and she has left a lasting impression on so many. Elevation Dance Studios loves Rachael Ward!”
Alex Andrews – Principal of Elevation Dance Studios

“I have adored working with Rachael. In my experience, she created an incredibly supportive teaching environment while simultaneously encouraging me to explore far outside my comfort zone and use my own creativity to perform in ways I never had before. She has a very strong understanding of how to effectively communicate her extensive knowledge of acting, vocal and dance technique to students, in addition to always being open to discuss her experience in the industry. Her passion for what she does is so clear and immediately inspired me to grow as an artist and adopt a similar mindset.”
Holly Ray

Rachael Ward was an absolute pleasure to work with and an asset to the Broadway Weekends teaching staff. She was always punctual, reliable, and easy to work with. Her teaching style was clear and precise, making it easy for any student to follow, and she encouraged students to develop a clear sense of storytelling into their performance development. We look forward to having Rachael back on our teaching staff very soon.
Jeanna de Waal – Broadway Weekends Founder

“I went to Rachael’s Barre Concept class for muscle strengthening and postural conditioning.
She has the grace, strength and precision of a professional ballet dancer.

Every movement she makes or demonstrates is a joy to watch. She will tirelessly explain all the details of an exercise, guiding and helping you to achieve it with tons of patience and encouragement.

Rachael’s class is always fun, energetic and challenging. It is like going through a basic ballet training session with a ballerina, it is so uplifting! I find Rachael a very enthusiastic and professional instructor. I have enjoyed her classes and feel benefited from them.”
Judy Man – David Lloyd Club Member

“It literally grounded me, physically during the session and emotionally afterward. Especially the next day I felt absolutely stable calm. I think it’s because of your high level energy session.”
Roman Kenzhayev – Performer Cirque du Soleil

Feedback on what makes me unique as a coach from my clients…

“The way that you look at things from lots of different aspects. You use unique imagery and cues to get to the end result, and you explore different ways to get something where it needs to be depending on each situation, rather than having a set way. You are also able to coach in a variety of areas like singing and acting, and also career and business wise.”

How have I helped my clients?

“You’ve helped me to learn singing technique from scratch, helped me become more confident as a performer, helped me look at songs from an acting point of view and have depth and meaning to the songs, helped me to prepare thoroughly for auditions, and helped me to learn about and understand the industry and navigating this world from a business point of view. I think you can continue to help me in all those areas because there is still so much for me to learn and grow in all those areas!”

How can I help my clients?

“You can help people who are feeling stuck in some way in their career. You can help people to deepen their performances or explore new ways of looking at things in order to find a more authentic performance.”
“People are often needing practical advice and help on how to navigate their career, so I think that if people need career coaching to figure out what they want to do next and how to get there, you would be helpful with that!”

Who needs me as a coach?

“Performers are always needing coaching and are looking to work on their craft so that they can continue on the journey to have the career and life they are hoping for”
“You’d be great for any kind of person who is looking to improve and grow!”

Some adjectives to describe me and my coaching from clients…

Kind, Honest, Understanding, Explorational, Encouraging, Invested, Fun 🙂
